The CIRSEAU cluster was an initiative of 5 previous EU-funded projects, which got funding from the H2020 program in 2020:
B-WaterSmart, REWAISE, ULTIMATE, WIDER UPTAKE and WATER-MINING.
These projects formed an alliance to share knowledge and make a better use of EU’s resources by collaborating and working together, instead of searching for similar answers.
The cluster in numbers
A total of 143 partners
Presence in over 20 countries (including 2 non-European countries: India and Ghana)
35 case studies
5 working groups
The areas that the cluster was focusing on were: identifying alternative water sources, reducing water consumption, increasing use efficiency, recovering valuable materials from water, producing carbon-free water cycles, and increasing resilience to climate change.
The CIRSEAU cluster now continues its path as an EU-funded project, which will help disseminate all the previous work and amplify it.
